I'm building a wall in my crx(yeah I know)anyways I want to fiberglass the wheel wells in stead of building the box around them.do I have to prep anything like the mdf or the metal before I glass it? and how many layer's will it take to be solid?

I'd tape over them and use a release agent. In the event you want to remove that wall in a few months/years it will make it easier to remove. Otherwise the fiberglass will bond to the metal--you can remove it, but it will be a bitch.

well I was going to use a thin carpet pad to raise the glass off the metal so that it don't rattle.

I would think that you are going to need approx 1/2" worth of glass to get the kind of stiffness that a wall would require. You can use some sort of core material to add to that thickness and support as well as other structural things like ribbing to help also. I do agree with Andy on the release agent though, would be a terrible mess with an air hammer or something...hehe

well I tried it this weekend and yeah I agree with the 1/2-3/5 thick so I just cut a triangle out of mdf and called it good. I have never tried fibergalss before and more then likly won't ever again.
