I would like to know, how much it would cost to glass 2 door pannels with and 8" and a 6.5" component set? Not painted, just plain.

Depends on a few things...how large a part you are talking about glassing, how complicated the piece is, how you want it finished, etc.

I'd probably charge $500 and up depending.

The guy i'm talking to quoted me around $300 for both sides, and i'm only getting a lower pannel glassed to bolt in place of my stock hacked up lower door pannel.
It will cover the entire lower area where the stock 6.5" speaker is located and the cup holder and side pockets are aswell.

Have you seen his work? Is it good? Could you go up to someone and say hey "Johnny's" doin my doors, and see that they somewhat envy you? 300 don't sound all that bad for Cali, but some folks will rob you with sh** work.

Oh and all my glass work is FREE!!!! [Wink]

How would I know his work is good? Some examples would be great.

Could you do mine for less? [Big Grin]

Only if you want them shipped from Alaska!! [Smile] )

As for how do you know.....ask how many he's done. Ask if he has any pictures of his work. What kind of glass experience does he have? You can't just say I build door panels and do it. There are things you have to worry about. If it's to thin it can ring from frequencies.(sometimes if it's too thick) Also if there are air bubbles you can get ringing and breaking.

You system seems like it's roundin out pretty good, so make sure the work you get takes you forwards and not backwards.

Shipping shouldn't be to much from alaska for 2 door pannels? If you can get some and glass them for me, i'd really be interested. [Big Grin]

You know what I'm thinking.......... Junk yard!!!! I might be able to get the panels there for a price of course.

By the way what's the mounting depth on your speakers. I'm pretty sure if you tell me the model and other such ish, I can handle the rest.
You might also want to be specific with design. Aiming might be some what of a problem also, but being an 8 and 6 it shouldn't matter that much....

This is what my door pannel looks like, and how I had the placement in mind.
The 8 would go somewhat into the stock location since it's the deepest.

considering kicks will run you about 150-300 a piece, custom door panels will run 500 on up, if they customize the entire door. Just the bottom half will be in the 300 range, each. (here in cali anyway)

i'd charge you $200 per side to do a nice stealth IB setup (finished, not just left rough)...$300 sealed...fancy stuff starts to get pricey.

winslow: 500+ depending is very reasonable/competitive

mr. blue: 300 for both 'plug and play' pods to screw into the doors is a good price...but as they say, you get what you pay for. Shop around and see who's got a photo album to flip through. Cali glass work can get damn expensive for run of the mill...you know what I mean?

80inches: your boy is smokin some serious crack at 4g's...that price his turn around should be overnight and should include every speaker and amp to run it, not just the glass work.

$200.00 per side sounds resonable, how long would it take you to make up a set?

hey I was just checking out your door panel...you realize the RE's are monsters and they will stick out something vicious unless you want to start cutting up the actual door?

Also, is that your actual door panel? If not, do you have power windows? If not, the 6 will not fit there being the placement of the window crank...
