Topic: MACROSS--A few questions about your sub box--
Hey, I really like that sub box man...you did an awesome job for a first time. How did you make that trim panel for the top? I assume its one piece of wood but how did you do the angles?
The logos/icons-- How did you do those? How did you get the vinyl to stick with such intricacy on the speaker/bulb icons and the JL logo on the side?
How hard was it to vinyl your box? Are the sides done in one piece with a panel for the top and bottom? How did you attache the panel?
SOrry for all the qs, Im gonna do my own enclosure soon and I am getting all sorts of ideas.

sorry for taking so long to respond. I haven't been checking up here recently...Thanks for the compliments!
I just scanned in pictures of the box construction, but I haven't uploaded them yet. I'll let you know when I have.
the trim panel for the top is a square ring of particle board w/ hardboard stuck to the top of it so it hangs over the bolts. I just used a jigsaw to cut the angles Oh, and I used particle board for the top and the feet cuz I wanted to save weight whereever I could and those pieces don't exactly need to be rigid.
the logo/icons are made from hardboard using a dremel. I think when I was gluing the vinyl to the icons, I used like a ruler to get it down into the grooves. I might have pulled the fabric backing off the vinyl for that area but I don't remember... the J, L, and the square that go around the logo are all separate pieces and vinyled separately then stuck together.
the box was wrapped w/ one piece all the way around. the trim piece on the back covers up the seam. There's a trim piece on the bottom that goes around the sub. the top is trimmed w/ the particle board trim thingy. The bottom panel fit pretty snugly, but I used velcro anyway to make it fit a little tighter.
well, I hope that helped! if you got anymore questions, just ask. You can email me if you want a faster reply
