Hi, I plan to build a ported box this week, I want to do a slotted port instead of a round port, my sub need a 4 inches round port, so, 4 X 3.1415 = 12.5, so my port will be 12,5 inches ( height ) by 1 inche wide, my question is, do 1 inch wide for a port is enough? Because 12.5 inches is a good number for me because the box will be 14.5 inches height ( 1 inch mdf ) so I will just have to put a board in and that will do my port... is it ok? Sorry by the way for the english skill i'm from quebec, canada

Without knowing much about the woofer I would just about put money on it that it would sound like ass.
50hz running off of a 5ch amp? Well it obviously is not for SPL, and there aint going to be much SQ if you tune teh port to 50hz!

32-37 hz is the range I try to tune to for SQ. 50 would be closer to an SPL tuning and would eventually damage the sub if you played a lot of music on it daily.

do you have de box volume?, and i am agree 50 hz, will damage your woofer, better below 45 (to boomy), 40 less boomy, 35 or less SQ!!!!
