What kind of straight cut bit does everyone use to cut MDF? I've tried several of the regular bits and they don't seam to cut very good and they don't last long. I need something that will cut at least 3/4" mdf but 1"+ would be ideal.
Also, how much of a difference does the router make. I don't know the hp or rpms on mine, but it is just an old craftsman. I hear cutting mdf can be hard on them.

You want a spiral upcut bit for use to make holes and rings. Make sure you also have a jasper circle jig (or one of another brand). It would be very difficult to just free hand it.

And don't forget to make a 3/4" or 1" cut in several passes. With my Craftsman 1.5 HP I made about 5 passes to cut 3/4" MDF with a carbide spiral upcut bit.

If I showed up to Game 7 of the World Series and was found to have a Corked Bat in pre game warm-ups, what would happen to me? Even if I said that I 'didnt see it in the rulebook, my bad'.

My PC 890 can get 3/4" MDF in one pass no problem- you need to use good bits like the Whiteside Machine bits.

Got you all beat. Komo CNC Router. Cuts 6000in+/- per minute. I use it for the speaker boxes and cabinets that we do. Ofcourse when you buy one of these, you can not afford Db Drag....lol
