Some pictures of my new door panels. The speaker pod will house an 8" IDQ8. They still need to be blocked and primed again but they are pretty much done.

Hell ya. Now that's how you make room for 8's. I'll be done with my panel soon.

So did you use your original panel?

yeah i used the original panel for the basis. There was a good deal of modifying though, probably more than there appears to be. not to mention the orginal panel had to be modified to fit my car since it was from a different car.

Hey you know what I didn't ask..... Is it sealed or IB?

The ones I'm workin on are sealed, but I'm workin on addin the electronic to the panel.

How thick is your glass (fiberglass)?

I'm going to run them IB for now. I originally wanted to do sealed but the room just isn't there. If i don't like the IB then i will probably get creative and make the room for the sealed.

It's tuff to say how thick the glass is. The areas that are mainly glass have 3 layers of matt and 2 layers of cloth. The rest has 2layers of cloth just to cover the existing vinyl. Also, the shaping for the pod and the lower portion was done with 2-part foam which provides a small amount of additional strength.
