We currently have a pioneer 7600 installed into the center console of a 99 Taurus w/ digital climate controls. This customer would like to upgrade to the pioneer avic-n1. I was wondering if anybody knows how the climate controls are integrated and if the radio itself can be removed from its oem bezel. We are looking to fiberglass the new HU into the stock location. A 2nd alternative would be to just relocate the climate controls and just glass a whole new bezel. But we would like to keep them in their stock location. Any comments are encouraged and welcomed. you will need to do a lot of fabrication on it, the circut board runs inside the front panel, plus the cassete unit in dash has the signals for the a/c running through it.
look for the radio im a junk yard and go to town...

there is a few for you. practice on the junk yard unit!!!
once you split the controls from the radio and climate you can add a din size opening. the car will need to be there a while because there is some taking in and out and trouble shooting, and rewiring. hope that helps
