Here is mine. It is made out of wood and on the top I put 1/4"foam pad (you can get in the sewing section at walmart)Then I covered it with tweed. There were 2-Memphis 1000D's in it but no more, so know I have 2 rectangle holes, 1 on either side. But works good to hold cd books.

I know this is off the topic, but SHWEEET TRUCK!!! I was curious as to what kind of adjustable suspension you have? I am assuming if it is, then air bags. I see no switch box.

Thanks for the compliments!! Sorry it doesn't have an adjustable suspension. Picture enhanced by friend. Although Airbags will be in the future. Here is what it really looks like. Maybe an inch lower in the back due to batteries.

Use your imagination and try and sketch out what you want in it. When I designed my dash and console I sat in the car and said this is where I want my shifter to be, where I want my switching system to be, etc. I made mine so it was comfortable to reach for me. I also liked to have the shifter, radio, and switches covered up when needed so I designed my console to have a lid that was designed like a roll top desk. Also think about how you are going to cover the console after you get it built. I don't know how to sew, so I made mine to allow me to build cover panels that I just glued and stretched the material over and then attached it to the sub structure. I used a combination of wood, fiberglass and bondo. Just use what you are comfortable with.

Hopefully the pictures will work. Jim

Thanks for the compliments. The car is a 1973 Chevrolet Nova. It's one of those "Never Quite Finished" cars. I got sidetracked last year restoring a Spirit Of America Nova and the 73 sits a lot. Hopefully later this year the restoration will be done. The hard part is tracking down limited production parts made 26 years ago. Jim http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=959970&a=7035798
