Ok. say im going to build a box tuned to 25hz. the box is in the trunk, and i want port the trunk into the cabin.
would i tune the cabin to the same freq as the box that the sub is in, OR would i tune it as if it were a big box, and take in account for the displacement of the subbox??

I don't think you need to tune that. Just get as much of the rear deck as you can to pass sound through. I mean cut holes (make it look decent too) for the sound to get through. I guess you could tune the trunk and use it as a big bandpass enclosure, but I don't know how well that would work. Never seen anyone do it.

yeah. that's kinda what i was thinkin.. but it would be cool to use the whole trunk as a bandpass =)
i took out my rear 6x8's today, and WOOO boy did my car suddenly get louder. that and now i can actually feel the waves instead of just vibrations.. i think its time to remove more..... like the whole back seat

You may want to take out your current rear deck and make a new one out of wood or fiberglass with a big hole or holes that can be covered with grill(s). You may also have to cut some metal if your car requires so. I think there would be a good improvement if you were to make a giant vent in your rear deck to allow the bass to enter the cab. Bandpass idea would be cool if you could get the truck totally sealed and deadened.
