Hi all,

When making a port out of PVC, is it ok to use "elbows" if there is a situation where the port can not run straight? Does this change the manner in which the port behaves, or affect the length calculations? How do you measure a "bent" port?

All advice welcomed.

Cheers!

Blu

the biggest problem with using curved ports is noise, make sure you round all the edges of the pvc, and to get the length of an elbow , measure the length of the outside of the curve, measure the lentgh of the inside of the curve, add those two figures and divide by two !

Yes a curved port is artificially 'longer' than it measures. The effect is minimal in car audio.
