These newer pulleys are made from T6061 Aircraft grade aluminum (Billet) for Excessive Amperage Alternators.
Tests have shown an increase of 17-18% increase at 600rpm engine idle (the least amount of improvement on the GM 6 groove, even more on the other styles) and the lighter weight should show less strain on the bearings. These are currently being produced in GM and Ford 6 Groove, Ford 8 groove, and V-belt.
Here is a picture of the newer style pulleys:
 -
A comparison of the old overdrive pulley next to a new style:
 -

And more recently tested on a different alternator (a 160 amp Mr.Alternator), here showing their overdrive pulley replaced with the new style:
 -

It is our understanding that with the designs of these newer pulleys that we should look forward to seeing the ability of even larger alternators being used in a daily driver type set up in the near future, so we look forward for what's to come.

^ Not as easy as you think with all of the design specs and the whole idea of the lighter weight billet aluminum is to actually make up for the added rpms and putting less strain on the bearings... kinda the whole idea, allowing for more rpms with less fatigue [Wink]

How small are these pullies? I have I believe either a 1.7 or 1.9" OD on my 220AMP alt for GM Six Rib. (98 LS1 5.7L V8 engine)

And it is not enough to produce Enough Amps at idle. It needs to be around 400 RPMS higher then it is currently.

This is the same issue Nate at Excessive was encountering with the overdrive pulleys he was using ( approx. 1.9") and the 300amp alt he has in his own personal vehicle wasn't charging properly at 600rpm idle.
The GM 6 groove units are approx. 1.6" and you can see the difference in this pic between the sizes in the 2 overdrive pulleys:
 -
^ Although this is not an EA alt it is still the same size pulley they were using previously.
And now on the 300 amp at 600rpm idle it floats around 108 amps.

We are not selling these units individually, are available currently for retail purchase through Excessive Amperage.
As a manufacturer we can complete orders of 100 (minimum order) to 1000 with an approximate turn around of 2 weeks with prepayment (manufacturing prices may vary with each order slightly due to fluctuating metal prices/ price estimates good for 30 days).

I have been running one for 2 years now.I had a 700-750rpm with a 6.5" crank pulley so I wasn't getting a high enough alt speed.Got this one that's 1.6" T6061 and have had no problems.

Thanks for the input and we're thrilled that you're happy with it [Smile]
Now if we could just get the market to pick back up a little we could have the capital and purpose to get started on some of the import designs.

i dont understand the purpose of making a post advertising your product, if you cant let poeple know how much they will cost.

i've 3 minutes down the road for you. but you cant give me a price on them?

i guess i should order it from nate, and pay for his cost of shipping the unit from toledo downsouth ,and then pay to ship the unit from him, right back to toledo.

it would be a great slap in the face to my alternator sponsor too, to buy a part from thier competitor..
