we had a pair of 9500's in my rex & were only aboe to pull just over a 50 (legal) with em on about 7KW....in comparison we gianed about 3DB just by swapping to the SoundStream T4's...& about another DB by swapping to the Powerbass XS's. We have a SM USACi car that we run 4 Powerbass 3000D's, to 2 15's, & so far the MTX's are the olny subs we have in the shop that will handle a full power burp (too bad we don't sell DD or RE!!)....LOL my XS's made almost 1/4 sec before POOF...& then amp went POOF to join them!!!

I really LOVE the 9500's for everything besides SPL though. Actually it is the best sounding 15 I have ever herd.

I run a single MTX 9512-44 and it sounds great for a daily driver. Alan and I burped it a couple times, and the numbers weren't too bad for being in a box tuned to 32hz. I think we got 138.6 out of it on 1200 watts in a trunk. The voice coil was pretty warm after a couple burps though. I'm not getting rid of it any time soon, and we're building a custom folded horn to house it in the next couple weeks.

at the time they were out of the SPLX. this thread is not about SS, it is about the 9500's, & was just using the T-4's as a comarison. they sounded good also, but not like the MTX's

Thats pretty close to the XXX 12 I ran. Trunked it pulled a 138.9 tuned to 32hz. I dont know what the actual fhz of the tone was though. I wish I had tried a couple other big woofers before I bought my truck, lol.

Yeah,We stopped selling the 9500's ,customers would come in and laugh at the prices we had for them in the sledgehammer boxes.
They'd go down the street and buy a head unit amp,and two 12's and get it installed for the price we wanted for the 9500 12,lol.
We changed our game plan real quick. [Wink]

Then they'd go down the street and borrow someone else's radio and subs with no plans of returning them.

Man MTX gets no love these days, I actually never even heard any 9500's but they "claim" big daddy is as loud as 7 9500 12's hmmm... we'll see but I have a hard time buying into that for the moment although big daddy is coming around and sounds excellent IMO.

Well, we hit 146.2 on the TL with the new enclosure and a single 9500, so it's doing OK, but I'm about giving it all it can take, so we're going to upgrade here shortly.

I had four dual 4 ohm 15's in a cutlass and hit a 152. something on the TL in Meca. Couldn't get them louder than that. They sound good for street beating but I couldn't get them loud. And I still have mmine sitting in my garage.

I have eight of the 9500's in a bandpass, in a Yukon XL with no back seats. Let me tell you something, I cannot stand being in it. It take all the breath out of you. The flex on the body is crazy. The door look like spagetti. I only have good things to say about them but I guess everyone has their experience with them. I never metered it because it's a streetbeater.

I had 2 of the 9512-04 in my rex strapped on 2 81001 and did a 149.5@48hz. It was nuts @35hz. could not stand to be in it with it cranked. But have moved on to new setup for SPL only. But that was a great street setup.

im in the middle of putting 3 9500 12's and 3 81001's in a tahoe. So far im very impressed with the 9500's. They will be in a ported fiberglass enclosure.
