I know, but thats not the topic. [Razz]

The Cab and the bed are bolted to the frame seperately and if you ever follow a truck into a parking lot that has a curb, look right under the rear window and you'll see the cab/bed flex.

Nothings wrong with it but they do move. When he got hit one of the body mounts holding the bed may have been damaged leaving the bed at a tilt.

He may have to re-bolt it to snug it down but there is no frame damage on that truck, the bed is just out of alignment. [Cool]

Thats not helping with my confusion [Razz] !
Maybe he'll post the results. I worked at a body shop from the time I was 17, to the time I was 20 and i've seen plenty of frames that "shouldn't" have been bent but where... but to keep a friendly debate alive I'll close by saying that the reason the bed "flexes" going over a curb is because the frame "flexes"....let us know NIS720
PEACE

Some guy is quoting me $650 to fix..... is this about right or what?????

Dude -

The body shop up the road (Northern VA / DC Metro Area) quoted me ~$700 to fix the rear of my s-10's driver side bed. My neighbor took out the left rear of my s-10 with his saturn (I was parked in my parking spot - asleep on the couch). The bumper was partially pulled off, paint scratches, and a nice dent where the bumper & bed come together on a '96 s-10. If I were to give the truck to my wife's Uncle or a local Vo-tech, I could probably get it done for cost of a couple cases of beer (well, non-alcoholic beverage for the Vo-tech students).

Point being, doesn't look like a lot of damage on my truck, but the shop was quoting me $700. Perhaps $700 isn't a lot for repairs, but considering that I owe less than $3500 on it anymore, 1/5 the cost seemed a bit steep.

My neighbor would have paid for the repairs, but now it just adds character to the truck. What can I say, I grew up in the woods & corn fields: all my trucks were scratched & dented from carrying 1/4 - 1/2 cord of wood back to the pile from the woods or gods know what else through the corn fields.

Good luck on getting it repaired and back to the shape that you want it in!!
