My truck hit the 200k mile mark yesterday, it's the original engine and the only major thing that I have done is replace the heat gasket 3k miles ago. I have a pic if the Odometer at 199,999 miles.

The even better that my engine is still running strong and there are no signs of wear on the engines main components with the exception of the timing chain having a little play in it from wear, but being the original chain and 200K miles its holding on very well. Now I just have to get the smog out of the way.

Gratz dude!! My old Bronco-II hit 175K when I traded her in. My s-10 will prolly be up there soon - gotta love commuting.

Curious - How often do you change the oil and have it tuned up?

Kewl - Now that the excitement of buying a house is over (and the paint splatter is dried to my hair roots) I'll have to start taking better care of that lil' ole s-10 of mine.

I have a 88 Town Car that just hit 150k. No signs of trouble. The 90 Town Car has 229,000 miles on it and the only major thing that had to be replaced was the alt. Whoever says american cars cant last...looks like I proved them wrong.

I think you should drop a 396 in that truck. That would be sweet.

I know how to solve that. Turn the radio up! Works every time.

My dad had an 85 s-10 with about 150K on it and the motor blew so we rebuilt it and then the transmission crapped out so we put a new one in and then the motor started knocking again. Turns out the crank they gave us had too much end-play so we got a short block and dropped that in. Then the radio quit so we sold it. My brother had an 83 ranger with 400+K on it. Drove fine and still passed emissions... My nissan needs a headgasket and timing chain/gears after 150K but I've had it running 150 up the interstated many times and melted some tires off the back so what do you expect? I have a 97' dakota that i've been driving for 5 1/2 months and I've already put over 13K on it.

I'm up to 213,000+ on my 89 Lincoln and it only gets more and more each and every day! I put on at least 300 miles every week on average and that isn't including when I hit the road for comps.
