im new to idbl and i think i may have made a mistake by using a single 12" sub instead of 2 10"s... has anyone done any competitive runs with a single 12? i am currently at 142, but i hope to get near 150 once i get more power going to my sub and maybe with some box changes, maybe a horn box... feel free to give me any ideas

good luck with that 150
but yes, i have seen people with 1 12" take idbl competitions - mid 40s will get you trophies all year long, and most likely an invite to finals.

well the amp is on its way now... finally got through to the people at mmats... giving me a serious run around down there... thinking of swapping the mod mmats for 2 phd2's.... wondering if 2 batts would handle that... thanks

Let me sum this up for you. My brother in law, BumpinBobby, has two 10" Treo's and he just popped a big number, 150.1. And that's with a MMATS D300HC Modified, in the trunk of a 1983 Hurst Olds. As far as me, I have the Illinois Record in this class, hittin 147.3 with one Juggernaut 12 and a D300HC. Go with the 10's!

------------------
SELF INSTALLED:
1 MMAT baby d100
1 Juggernaut 12
147.3dB's, 2000 Illinois State Record Holder, Personal Best IDBL Division B Class 1 (click below)
http://www.iasca.com/results.php3?year=2000&comp=idbl&eventID=1211
2 Juggernaut 12's
148.6 dB's, Personal Best in dB Drag Racing 1-2 Street
Inside 1 Stock Honda Accord

AND THAT'S NOT MY FINAL ANSWER!

I was doing a 143.3 with my 2 10's, I am doing a 142 with my 12" however, I need to give it about 600 more watts.

1 12 will do good in IDBL if you have it tuned correctly and have plenty of power, like it was said, mid 140's will get you trophies all year.

Well, I am going with 1 12 in Stock 1-160. I just got a DD9512 and I am getting a Virtual Technologies box. I am going to be powering the sub with 2 Crossfire BMF-1000d's (2000 @ 2 ohms MONO RMS). I hope to enter the 150 dB range with that setup

What amps did Pablo Rodriguez have to power his VT Hammer 12 to 150 dB's??? HMMM...I might hit harder than him because IMO a VT Hammer 12 can't compare to a DD9512. Well, I"m just going to hope for the best and see what happens.

Pablo was using two memphis 500D's.

I don't know about Illinois but down here to place you need to be doing 152+ in stock 161-260
------------------
IDBL Stock 161-260
5th place SBN 2001!!!

yeah it is.. makes for good competition though beginners will get swamped... also anyone who isnt in it for competition purposes. i doubt many people buy a system and enter a comp just for fun and actually win around here..
