I have to say we all know the situation with the prize money. Yes it is very fustrating not to receive money that you are expecting. Especially when the amount is a significant amount in some cases. I feel that this situation has definitley hurt Iasca on their retention of competitors.

At this point I don't feel that the prize money will be suffecient to change the feelings of competitors regarding this league. The best solution is for Iasca to make a public statement on the situation. If the league is that much in debt and can not pay the competitors I feel we should be notified. I looked at Iasca's website today and they do not have a phone number to contact them. This is probally because of the number of complaint calls.

This has effected peoples financial status. I know competitor in the process of buying a house that could use that money but are held up because they are a few dollars short. Some of the other competitor expressed earlier that they would rather spend the money on their family. The lose of competitors is not only effecting Iasca but also the Manufactures who sell to us. If their is no competitor, manufactures will not be able to sell their equipment to people who have spent thousands over the years.

At this point I will have to ressign as a Iasca competitor until they give me an incentive to be a member of their organization. I feel many other competitor will follow in my foot steps whether or not they post to this topic.

The new president is still dealing with the old financial problems, like low turn out at finals on the part of maufacturers and spectators, lower membership numbers for 2+ years now, etc. Right now my faith is wavering but I'll hang around until at least next year. After one year of new leadership if its the same old song and dance then I'll find myself somewhere else

U can reach Iasca at 317-571-5618 I think thats in New York now. I have called numerous times each one I've got a different arrival time of course none met yet. The most recent was the end of FEB. well 3 days later nothing. I personally will be doing mostly DB DRAG this year, But if u do want to call and complain yourself u need to talk to Sarah.

I was not aware that this happened last year. I choose not to go last year because of money problems. I am glad that I didn't.

From here I am not waiting for the third times the charm. If Iasca wants business from me and other competitors they will have to find me and make it worth my wild. The shop that I deal with used to hold monthly Iasca Competitions. We will no longer be holding these events.

I will compete IDBL as long as its in junction with a dB Drag event. I will not make any special trips to compete at an Iasca event. If the event is held strictly by Iasca and all profits goes to the organization I will not compete at it also.

If Iasca feels that they have a solution to this problem I would like them to come forward and explain it to me. I would also like a reason why I should compete in their organization why it will benefit me. I understand this is not a money making sport and probally will never be. If you are going to claim that you pay out the most at finals for any organization so should at lease hold up to your word.............

This just goes to show a tired organization that has a (IMO) boring format. Who wants to go to a car show that you can't seen inside the cars?
I may be stepping on toes here but I will stick with dB Drag and other SPL only contests.
just my opinion

I agree that they could be a little more spectator friendly. I like showing and talking about my ride. I think iasca will make the turnabout and be as good or better then before. They certainly need to listen to the membership more. There are still a lot of dedicated iasca members. Myself included but I like betatdi will give them this year before I seriously consider something else. I will check out usac closely at sbn.

From my understanding their is only two SQ leagues that you can choose from. When it comes to SPL their is many more to choose from. IDBL should help themselves by being more competitive to these other leagues. Iasca has been around for years, but face it they are not the top organization for SPL. When you are not the top organization that people want to compete in, you must do something to increase your attendence. By not keeping your word to the competitors you have now is not a way to do this.

If you think out of the 50-75 people who showed for final for idbl at least half of those competitor won money for their place. Now you have these individuals who will second guess about competiting next year. I spoke with many big time competitors who received an invite to finals that did not show because they did not want to waste their time at the event. This also does not look good on the organization.

Well that is my venting for the week and their is still no check in the mail. We will see how long this takes.

iasca is dead! for their own sake they should appologize to their fans and disban permenantly. i know of no one who would even consider going to the finals now anyway. its a shame and i always liked iasca and their ideas, just they have hit and alltime low and should quit. all the competitions have gone down hill, the triple point dbdrag event in CA did not even have a display of the peoples spl until the finals.
