Okay, here it goes. I just finished building a demo vehicle for blaupunkt and was wanting to show it at NOPI. Well, the only place I knew to show it was in that IASCA comp. Well, I picked the Ultra X class, I think it was. If not it was the Ultra Pro class. Well, I have competed in IDbl before but not in SQ. I really didn't want to just jump right in with the big boys in the SQ scine but feelt like I had no choice. Well, I need some advice on what I need to have ready for the judging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not expecting to do very well as the car was not build for SQ comps. It was built to be a show only vehicle. So, this is just a way to get our shops name out. So, please help me out on this one!!

If you picked Ultra X you are in the expert class with Mark Eldridge, Scott Buwalda (if he is still in that class), etc. You are in a small class (number of competitor wise), but with the biggest dogs.

Do you have a rule book?

Do you have an installation book?

I need to get the install book together. What stuff should I include in it and what will go on in the judging lanes? Help me out guys.

You need a rule book if you don't have one. The install book should show all aspects of the install--to include wire termination, how the wire is secured to the vehicle, any hidden components (how the are cooled, wired, and attached), the venting system for any batteries that are in the interior, etc. Basically you want pictures of just about everything.

I'll try and find a score sheet and take a picture of it (although mine was for Street---I'm not sure how different the Ultra score sheet is).

Not to discourage you, but expect to get beat up pretty bad at every large show you go to. Mark is there, Wilson Ad**** shows up sometimes, Buwalda is heading there I hear, and Fred is finishing the Passat.

But if you want to demo the company and shop, that is the class to do it since they are sort of their own little show within the show.

Good luck, and if I can help out getting a rough tune on the car, let me know.

Hey winslow, are you going to NOPI? Would love for you to listen and see what you think. A little help never hurts. Let me know. And yes I am going to go and get my a$$ handed to me but I am going to show the scion and let everyone get to know me and our shop. To get pointers on the install and to use it not as a competion persay but to use it as a learning experiance. Any abvice and help would be much appricated.
