For those of you interested,(i.e. all "My system is louder than yours" music listeners)
On June 4th 5th and 6th at the Steel Valley Regionals Image Dynamics along with Audiocontrol and Batcap will be hosting the first annual Steel Valley SQ Enduro challange. Prizes to include 6 ft trophies and cash prizes for the winners of each class. All of the details are not specific yet and will be released upon completition of the rules but here are the basics.
THIS IS NOT A SPL SUBWOOFER HIGH SPL EVENT, THIS IS FOR HI SPL IN A SQ FORMAT (80hz+).
There will be 2 classes Wall and no wall, If there is not more than 5 competitors in the wall class both classes will be combined and awards of 1st and second place will be awarded.Judging will be based off of 2 runs of 30 seconds (optional second run) averaged using a Audiocontrol Meter. We will be using L'Daddy as the music selection for this event. This event is for SQ cars only. You must be registered in one of the other SQ classes (IASCA, USAC, MECA, SLAP) in order to compete in this contest.
All Registered cars will be checked for SQ settings prior to the meter being placed in the vehicle and will be measured for highest SPL. all systems for this showdown must be crossed over at 80hz+ and will be checked via staff and meter proir to run(s). Microphone will be placed in the drivers in the passenger seat at listening.
All judging will take place starting at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday after all judging has completed starting with non top 40 competitors first and concluding with all top 40 competitors so all participantants will have equal oppurtunities to compete without damaged product in normal competition.
Entry Fee's will be $20 per vehicle to be paid at pre-registeration at the event. All entry fees will be put into a pot and the pot will be split between the 2 classes and the pots plus manufacture sponsorships wil be awarded to the winners. Minimum cash award will be $300 per class based off of current manufacture sponcerships. IF there is not enough competitors to make 2 classes there will be a single unified class and fisrt, second and third places will be awarded with prize money being split 70/30/20 As Additional sponsorships are acquired the pot will increase.

On a side note to all Team Image Dynamics Competitors that choose to enter this challange all destroyed and/or damaged products will be covered by full warranty.

On another note I EXPECT JASON WINSLOW, KRISA BORTZ, STEVE HEAD AND CREW, AND ALL OTHER BRAGGERS (i.e. "my system is louder than yours" competitors) TO COME PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTH IS!!!!

After careful consideration here is a revision in the rules.
Ino order to compete in this you must meet the following requirements.
1) registered owner may be the only one to run vehicle for challange
2) vehicle must be registered in any one of the following orginizations (IASCA, USAC, MECA, SLAP, DB Drag)
3) vehicle must compete in any of the previous orginizations sound quality events and meet and rules and regulations based upon the individual rules and ethics of the individual orginization. Slap Show and shine is not considered a qualifying event for this contest. Must be a SQ format qualifier
4) Entry Fees of $20 per vehicle must be paid at the event at competitor registeration booth at the show by no later than closing time Friday June 4th. any late registeration must contact myself and/or show management.
5) contest will start on Sunday June 6th at 2:00p.m (tenative)with cars not in the top 40 going first then following with top 40 competitors only after they have been judged for top 40
6) This will be a one run challange. There will be no second run oppurtunities except for system failure in which the competitor will get 5 minutes from failure to make repair. If they cannot complete repair and/or has additional failure on second try the vehicle will be disqualified without refund!!!
7) All vehicles MUST verify system setup with a pass/fail RTA using pink noise from the provided disk. IF you fail RTA you will have 2 minutes to fix the descrepencies. IF you cannot pass RTA you will be disqualified without refund!!! RTA reading must follow IASCA 2000 rulebook guidelines. NO EXCEPTIONS. Judges reserve the right to run second RTA test after SPL run to verify that no changes have been made via remote or during change of disk between first RTA and spl portion of contest.
We are currently talking with Audio Control about the doing a filtered Mic. RTA will be done on a full range as presented bases 10hz to 20khz. SPL portion of this will be 80hz plus. depending on if we can get this mike will depend on if other measure will need to be taken to remove the frequencies from the vehicles. I will post further information as I have it.
In addition we will be having only one class, since it will be 80hz and up. It has yet to be decided if it will be first second third or winner take all!! If it is winner take all the winner will be required to take the organizing parties (i.e me)out for a very nice dinner!
