What does everyone think about this sub? Anyone have one? Is it worth the cash?

Buddy of mine has one, I have a little experience with them... for the price they cost, I've heard only 130 some decibels as the highest SPL out of one. Actually, I think it was more like 128, anyways, cool toys, but if want REAL SPL take that money and buy a stroker(or whatever your favorite SPL sub is) or two...

Yes, they will only do 128 or so. But, they'll do 128 at 16Hz.....

If I remember the review about them, it was stated that they were not an SPL toy, but for SQ you couldn't go wrong. Need lots of space though, looks like a washing machine and the box is the size of one . (at least it was back when they were introduced, not sure if improvements on size have been made.)

Well I have judged a car that had 3 of them (or was it 2)and Phgold amps but I forget what model. They are for sure not SPL subs. They have a sound VERY unique and take some getting used to. It is very smooth and dont really have the hit of a normal sub. The bass seems to really surround you. Some of the earlier models has a problem with noise from the fins coloring the bass but I think that was fixed.

So they do sound quite good. But na...I like the hit of a normal sub....They are not a sub I would buy with out hearing cause the sound IS different...

Proaudio150, you would buy without hearing? Or you wouldn't buy without hearing?

It is a sub I personally would not buy with out taking a listen to first. It does have a different sound and some are sure to not like it.
