pretty soon people will be getting the 170 with two woofers , and I'll still be stuck in the 50's! with 16 woofers! I hear reports of 160's all the time now. before, if you hit 160 with anything ,it was a real accomplishment. hell, 150 for that matter. my hats off to these people.

Considering the fact that the number was at an IDBL event using an Audio Control, I don't believe it to be valid. I've seen way too many false readings on those meters.

Just my 2 cents but I think the only reason why the 2 woofer class is hitting such I number is for 1 technology. You got this damn new DD subs tearing up everything. The only problem is they need so much power. Most of this 160+ people have like 1500watts to each coil on them woofers. You just dont see people with 10+woofer having that much power to each sub. that would be about $20,000 in subs and amps. not to mention the vechile and the install equipment. To me to make things fair. I think db drag should be split my power and not woofers. Cause I love the sport but I cant afford 700 dollar subs and 1000 dollar amps. Anyway this message wasnt to inslut anyone or anything like that.

doughboy makes a pretty good point about the rediculous amounts of power being used on those subs. Hey, I'm all for it, my brother is putting in a Stroker with abtou 800 a coil until he can afford some "real" amps.
However, I don't think just power classes will work, we've all been there and done that. Too many cheater amps out there.
I remember a failed sound-off organization a few years ago that had a combination format. You got so many points for cone area, and so many points for watts. Classes were based on your total points. It was pretty cool and prevented a guy with a pair of 10 MTX 3000's and a 125.2 competing against a 167. I always thought it made the most sense...
