Hi, once again i have some questions. I am running 2 12inch JBL gt's in a custom built 4cubic box with 4inch wide and 12inch deep ports in the front facing the trunk of my 1992 pontiac sunbird. I have it so the ports and subs are about 4inches away from the trunk. I am running an MTX RF 2400x road thunder amp at 4ohm mono..so about 375 to each sub. I am normally in the mid 143s db wise. My high is 145, with my kenwood kdc3011 radio. Well, i just purchased the kenwood kdc 8011 which has a 4 volt pre-amp output which the 3011 did not have. Well i was just at a competion in ft wayne indiana, and i only hit 142.8 for my high and 142.4 the other 2 times. I think i may have been playin too much distortions ha ha.. but anyways why did i drop so much? The only thing i changed was the radio, and its a better one i dont get it. I also take out my back seat for the competions....would taking out my rear deck help any? Please any info as to why im going down and what i should do will be greatley appreciated, and i hope to see some of u this coming sunday in indy(the 28th and 29th)

Thanx

Well if your spl went down, and all you did was change your deck then it was probably the mic. Diffent mic`s are more sensitive than others.

you should check ur manual there might be a difference in the distortion ratings an you might have to retune the system ( i dunno im just babbling ) but it was most likely the mic ive seen my scores drop 2 db from one competion to the next just play with the damned thing i would till i get it back or kick the #@%$ out of the dash

Well it could have been the weather. The mic...if you played you system more that day and the amp/coils were warm. There is alot that can affect a difference of that.
