I've done a little research on SPL and came across slot loading. It seems that you place a baffle in front of your subs in some sort of manner. I'm not sure exactly how everything should be oriented so I'm looking for some pics and an explanation. Also, any other info on how to achieve high SPL, especially on low hertz tones(60Hz and below), I'm totally open to opinions. I'm planning on competeing in SPL competitions locally and want to have a good plan before I start doing everything. I'm trying to go with the minimalist approach. 1 maybe 2 subs (DD 9515's) and 1 maybe 2 amps (class D; still unsure) that's why I'm looking for as many ways to improve SPL as possible. So slot loading, compound loading it doesn't matter just please help me out and give me some info. Thanx.

What type of vehicle will this 2-woofer system be in, and are you going to do a wall behind the front seats, or have the woofers in the rear of the vehicle?

The vehicle is a Subaru Vivio RX-R. They're not produced in the U.S. The cabin size is very small, about the same size or a little less than an Aston Martin Mini. It's also a hatchback. I was thinking of building a wall since so many "big names" in the SPL circuit utilize one. This type of car is called a K-car and alot of people in Japan use them for SPL comps. I want to be very competitive and should have a good chance. Where I'm at the high SPL record is only 155. Sooooooo...I'd really like to top that. Thanx for replying.

Two DD fifteens in a correctly designed ported enclosure, walled off, and powered by a large amp on each speaker should do very well. Are you planning on driving the car to contests, or towing it on a trailer? Cab modifications can significantly increase your SPL.

I'll still be driving this car to and from work but I'm going to definitely do cabin mods. In fact, I'm starting them today. I'll be using sound deadning throughout the whole car. I'm also going to use MDF and build up my headliner, doors etc. then lay fiberglass over everything. I'm also open to any sugestions on cabin mods. Most people here don't do any type of cabin modification and their whole car rattles like a big tin can. Man I can't wait to get everything up and running.

I have seen this done before in my judging but I have seen it in SQ. They did that with a board about an inch above the speaker. Said that the space will affect the freq. this was a ways back so I dont have exacts but I have seen it done IN sq...
