I will have 2 Punch Power 1100a2's and 2 Power DVC 15's (or 2 HCCA 15's) in the trunk of my skylark which hit 136.5 with2 12w0's getting 80w each. Will I hit atleast 146? I just want to be able to place atleast 3rd, if not 2nd or 1st at every db drag I go to. What do you think?

First off you may want to try the HCCA's. I have heard some amazing stories about these subs. The powers are great subs too. To be brutally honest if you don't break a 150 with those subs and that kind of power you really don't know what u r doing. Make sure you have the juice to give those amps, vent the boxes right and you should take more than third at most local shows.

With that setup and done correctly you should be around 150dB. I did a system with one HCCA15 in an sq type box and did 146dB. If you do it correctly, that means you get the amperage that those amps need you should. They draw a ton of current and your amps will only put out the amount of wattage that they are recieving from the alternators and batteries. You will need multiple alternators and batteries if you want it to be as good as possible. Trust me I am doing mine right now. Good luck!

Get the hcca subs by all means look on the bd drag leaderboard you will find almost no rockford subs in any of thier vehicals. Sorry wayne. there is enough power and cone there to get a 10 db. gain but it will be tough without a flip down rear seat. As far as placing it depends on the level of competition that shows up, look @ the leader board for the 2 speaker catagory on Db drag.

A local Orion dealer let me borrow the HCCA12 to test. In a sealed enclosure, it was not impressive. Of course, it may do much better in a vented box, but at the time, I was searching for a sub that worked well in sealed. Also, the test was done @ 500 watts, so I suppose it may outperform other subs @1500 watts.

The HCCA subs *****ass in sealed enclosures. I would bet anything that they would crush any RF sub made. Guaranteed! If you go with HCCA's only do it vented.

Acually Orion does not even recomend a sealed enclosure. The hcca sub is more geared toward spl. Where the Fosgate is for more the street cruiser. I want in on this bet too.

I have to go with RF here... However I personally think that sound has as much, if not more, to do with install than equipment choice... I am not saying Rockwood is going to bring home any blue ribbons, but it would probably waste A HCCA in a crappy box...

There are plenty of RF user's on the leaderboard. And I doubt HCCA could waste RF in quality installs. Subs are always a give and take situation. You will rarely fine a sub that decicively outperforms another. Posts: 926 | From: Sugarland, Tx | Registered: May 1999

Well there is a guy here that is doing a HCCA 12 in a ported box with a single HCCA250R going to it doing legal 147's. In the hatch of a Acura Integra. With the right box and power I agree if you dont break a 150 you didnt something wrong....

I am actually thinking of using the HCCA too, My question is how could a sub that has twice the X max of the Power DVC not be louder? I have seen the new HCCA kick out some high numbers. Not to be rude, but if your going to spend the money on a sub like the HCCA, wouldnt you build a awesome enclouser for it too?? Same with the powers. IMO, the HCCA could spank the Power DVC. *thats my opinion anyways*

All I see is a rating for 'Linear Excursion' of 16mm which is 0.63". Now is this suspension capability, two way Xmax, one way Xmax, ??? If it's one way Xmax, then that's pretty impressive. Most heavy hitters like the Power DVC and JLW3s hang in the 0.5" range, and the DDs are more in the 0.32" range.

And that's the bottom line, cuz: LORD DUKK SAYS SO!

No problem Dukk! I`m not sure on the full stats on that sub, but personally I think it is a D@mn impressive subswoofer. Infact I am thinking of using either 2-12" or 2-15" for my spl car that I hope to have ready by next season! That is if funds hold up!

WOW! THATS ALOT OF POWER. IS YOUR SEAT DOWN, IF SO, AND THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF AIR IS GETTING TO THE MIC, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM. MY FRIEND HIT 151.0 WITH 2 PUNCH 800S AND TWO ULIMINUM ECLIPSE 15S ITS INSANE, GOOD LUCK!

HAHA! ULIMINUM! Thats great! Not raggin on ya lincoln but its funny. And yes the Orion subs will throw .63" one way. The 10" will actually throw farther than the 12 and 15. It will throw around .9" one way with over 1000 watts! I talked to the rep for here in good old Spokane WA. He has one 12 in the trunk infinate baffle and it is doing mid 140's.

If you have not purchased your subs yet why don't you try some GZ Nukes I seen 1 12 inch GZ Nuke hit 148.9 in the back of an escort hooked upto SS Rubi 1002!
