155.1 dB - woohoo [Smile]

This was with a "Monster" prototype woofer -- not a production speaker.

Interestingly... with all my tweaks to the Z v.2 prototype it was doing the same numbers per watt up to 2500 watts (I stopped measuring with the Monster at that point). So... I may be able to match this with a full production trim Z v.2 driver.

Previous best was 154.9 with an 18v electrical system and two SAZ-3000Ds on the sub... this time I am on 12v but with two SAZ-4500Ds (power is similar).

Some more pics of the setup :

I haven't played with front to back box positioning since I built the new amp rack (yah, slacking... I know) -- but I'll work on that a bit when I get time and see if I can increase this.

Good score. Do you think you might gain any if you made the box skinnier, e.g., make it the same width as the sub?

I'm not sure [Smile]

I do need to play with pushing the box closer to the hatch... and I usually gain 0.1 with another piece of PVC along the bottom of the port.

I think I can get some tenths still from this setup!

Seal those voids inside the panels on each side and you're score could go up

Been thinking about that... I think I may have been louder with my side panels IN the vehicle as well, but haven't done an A-B test since I have to take all my batteries, amps, etc out to re-install the panels.

Was thinking about covering them over and filling with foam.

I haven't had the side panels back in since dampening. But before any dampening I got 154.9 out of the same sub... and I gained a bunch dampening (1.2 dB). So I suspect I probably lost having the panels out.

Or do you mean sealed on the dash ? If so, this is sealed on the dash dB Drag style -- 155.1 here and I did 155.3 at a show with a full battery charge (drove a few hours to the show).
