Hey guys, i have a quick question, i have a suzuki Swift 2009, iīm building for AD NW with a single DD 3518 18" and 5000 RMS,i built the box 4 c/f after displacement and 2 8" external ports, they are 17" long each one, the box itīs on the back seat area, well, i tried cutting down the ports and the number went down, i got them longer and it went down, i shrink down the box with some woods and the number went down, funny thing itīs that the peak never changed (57 hz), i thought that my carīs frequency would be higher with the box so close to the windshield, this means that my box is too small and the ports are too short???

Said that, i took a sealed box, ran a sweep and the peak was 48 hz WTF???? so, is this normal??? if the box is closer to the sensor the FR itīs lower??? i need some help here, i couldnīt get more than 148.4 dbs :S:S:S:S

single 8".... freq is ok....what have you espect? not every car is panda  there are lot of things that influence on res. freq...shape of the car....car interior..etc...

--------------------
2xAlpine type R 12"&Gz amp=151,1dB - no panda..just a normal car....
2xAlpine subs+1950wrms=148,3dB - ported by LB audio

^^

I was thinking more along the lines of 54-55hz,

When doing the sealed box test, did you have any bass boost on your headunit or crossover? This makes a difference
