I'm sure that sub has been well past 160. I have seen the a singel 9512 Into 152 range win a street A setup. I have also seen a 9518 well into the 170's.

On the temlab meter it does a 142.6db and the current box is the high effiiency enclosure from the DD audio site. It plays loud and still drops low on certain songs like Gorilla Zoe song Lost.

I had a box doing just a little over the 150 with a 9515, thenI had this box:

 -

doing 152's in testing but I destroyed the sub.

Hard work ahead for you with a trunk car to work with! try getting the sub and the port firing into the cabin instead of having the port working hard to pressurise the trunk.

In 2003, Christiaan Oosthof did a 151.7db with one DD 9515 from the trunk of his bmw 3 series. Power came from 2 x RF BD1500 on 16v.

Our 97 Cavalier with a DD 9515 And a DD Z1 done a 150.8 Db Drag and 152 Iasca with above equipment, woofer and port forward in the trunk and seat still closed.

Trunks are very tricky for spl, just try different box designs till you find the best.

try 2 things-

1- flip the box around and fire the sub to the rear.

2- flip the box and fire the sub up and port to the rear.

even with that box that isn't necessarily designed for max spl in that particular car, you should be putting up bigger numbers than you are.
