Well I just recently started putting together my first system at the age of 22.

My "Mutt" setup is a pair of 10" HX2 with a Massive 2000db series amp. Wondering any ways to gain DB.

Amp - Massive Audio DB 2000B Amplifier
Subs - Rockford Fostgate Punch HX2 RFD2210
Cap - Lightning BD10-03 Bolt 1.0-farad Capacitor
Box - Fierce Audio SP210.1 Slot Ported (1cf/chamber)

quick lead off question, I currently am using a cheap walmart kit for wiring, and am looking at adding a small amp for my midbass, ill need another set of rc cables anyway, would running two runs of 6ga wire be a bad idea since one is already ran? aka costing me $30 instead of $80-$100 for 4ga?

I have a 97 merc sable. anyone have experience with the hx2 subs? I get a weird noise when the volume gets up to a specific point thats different in just about everyone song, read around that its something with the tinsel design? random guy bumping at a gas station said something about adding another ground into my system that would make my sub move slightly less, any truth to this?

have yet to put a most recent video after adding a 6x9 to the empty center slot in my rear deck and some added tuning sessions.

if you do see my videos please no "get a deck" kinda suggestions this is mostly a through the winter car - looking at a 2001 mazda protege for in the spring (only upgrades over this ill be doing for sure are big3 and yellow top batt *any battery suggestions otherwise?*)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b_RCpGwlno <- my system jeezy - hypno

to me one of the best songs on this setup as well as airforce, white girl, and juice box

No 6 guage, no 4 guage, hell not even 2 guage. You need to get yourself some 0/1 guage and save the trouble of running several runs. With the kind of current that your talking about carrying you need as big of wire that you can get, not tons of runs of smaller wire. You kind find 0 guage kits online for $90 so your just going to have to spend the money if you want to do it right.

heh figured that would be stated, thanks for a stern but very truthful response.

a buddy also has a pair of alpine type rs, running off a "4k" amp that pry only puts out about 1200-1400 rms max. guess we need to go halves on a 50 foot order of 0/1 [Razz]

it's not a legacy or lanzar 4000 is it? because with 70A of fusing, and that inefficient design, 600RMS DIRTY would be suprising

lol yeah it is he was given it by a friend so the price was right. neither of us are looking to win any comps.

Legacy LA2268 4000W 2/1 Ch Predator Series Car Amplifier
Output Power:
* 2 x 300 Watts RMS @ 4Ohms
* 2 x 450 Watts RMS @ 2Ohms
* 2 x 2000 Watts Max. Output
* 1 x 4000 Watts Bridged Output

was mostly hoping to find anything out about the hx2 subs it sounds like metal slapping plastic sound but was wondering if there was a fix for this. its at high volume (believe the excursion increases to a point where the tinsel leads hit the back of the cone, the amp nor the sub never get any temp the amp gets about as warm as luke warm water.
