So, got some 18s to play with.

I have a BMW compact e36, so want to make a box for SPL comp.

I got one with 300L - 10.5cuft

What do you guys think about that?
Should I build bigger or smaller?
Peak to hit is 50-52Hz!

So I thought about 12" aero with this box, and making the box a lot smaller, to some 6.5-7cuft and adding 10" aero

Subs up/port up and subs up/port back with 10+cuft
Subs up/port back 7cuft

So, anyone got any experience with this kind of "problem"?

300 liter is good for 2x15"
so I suggest you should build it much bigger
and do you want to build a "competitive" no-wall box??
I have here pics of a bmw with 2 x 15" in a wall in no-wall (you get it [Big Grin] [Big Grin] )
2 subs on top of eachother but below windowline without cuts [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
that car was doing around 160db

Just build it as big as the car will allow, you can always downsize with kicks inside the box, bodyfiller, more wood,etc...

that should be enough, id try for 15 cuft' before displacement....make the box as wide as will fit between the b-pillars and make the port as large as you can then just shrink the box if needed. the rest is vehicle specific, dont assume your tuning will peak at a certain note though....you may be in for a surprise!!

be careful with bracing....try to build the top and bottom 2" thick and maybe a singe heavy rod in the middle from top to bottom.......Pete s on this forum has a build log you should look at for sure!
