4-15" ipipe audiopipe subs and 1 AP3001 at 1ohm walled off behind rear seat only did a 142.6 needs to be louder. Box is 20cu. ft. with a center port measuring 4"W x 28"H x 20"D any help would be nice. I did better numbers with MTX80001D and 2 TXXSPL15 audiopipe subs in a 10cu. ft. box

If you search around on here youll find alot of pics of explorers that will help. 3-4 4" aerports will be louder than a slot port for spl.

your box is way too tall aswell. when firing your port back the taller you build your box the more you're chocking the airflow back overtop of the box.

Stick to the windowline height of 14-14.5". Or you could probably get away with 15" countersunk.

Ur better off running 4 10s or 4 12s than 15s if you're serious about SPL Id definitely considering switching.

Id build the box 40 wide X 28deep X 15 tall (double countersunk baffle). Thats 7.5 cubes. Fire two woofers forward and two up with the upward woofers mounted as close to the front as possible. Then build a custom 10" aeroport in the middle of the box at the very bottom firing back. Make it about 10" long to start then start shortening it. I think it would be loudest at around 6" length.

Your other option which I think would give you better results would be to only use two woofers. Build the box 36 wide X 25 X 15 tall with double countersunk baffle. Thats 6 cubes firing both subs forward. Make your external 10" aero firing back and centered vertically and horizontally on the box. Will be loudest around 8" long. That will be a good design there!

Or another one since you have more width than depth in an explorer you want to utilize that. Since explorers peak so low compared to crx or panda you need to have much more port length than them. Id do two woofers to the passenger side...two woofers up and mounted as far to the passenger side as possible without the motors touching. Box will be 37 deep X 25 wide X 14 tall single baffle. Which is 6 cubes. Then use three 6" aeros external firing to the drivers side. Start with the aero length right up to touching the drivers side interior panel and shorten from then.

A version of this last box mentioned was the loudest setup I ever had in my explorer using 6 10s. It was doing mid to high 157s @ 48hz in street C with 4 AB 500.1s at 0.33 strapped per pair.

Heres a couple pics on two amps before it was tuned. With the ports chocked right up against the side like that it still did 155+ with 2 amps not loaded down.

no you should get pretty good results from it. The loudest street C crx's often use this style of design.

all of wagonized info is good i would try all that he said! but just to add to it i would build one more box like this not sure if its a 4door or 2 door but if a 4door i would build for all 4 15s up. make the box 32 by 32 by 14.5 or 15. if u could fit it i would maybe even do 31 by 31 by 15 either should work. i would run either 4 4inch aero ports all internal. or maybe 3 4 inch aero ports internal or if u could fit it n the middle of the 4 15s i would try one 6 inch inernal port. hope that helps a bit. there is also alot more that can be done to any explorer of those years to gain a db or 2 and in some cases up to 3 db [Wink] hope that helps

What else could be done to an explorer to add db to the internal of the truck and it is a four door with the back seat still in it. Any more pics or info would really help with this build.

invest in the best deadening you can afford. Tune the cabin of the vehicle before screwing around with any enclosures. If ur serious about doing well in street class Id import some vibraflex from europe.
