I don't agree with that at all. I've personally tested braced and unbraced and my boxes have made more power with bracing instead of unbraced. I just recently added some threaded rod to my daily box and gained almost 200 total watts and .12 less ohms of impedence.
are you saying that bracing gave you power or that the impedance rise change let your amp make more power

do the math, if you understand the direct relationship between impedance and output power then you would know that the decrease in final impedance will improve your output power.

Yes that's what I'm saying. I was trying to get across the point that by adding extra bracing to my most current box it resulted in less impedence rise unlike what Dustin was saying about not doing bracing and it giving less impedence rise. It may be true in some cases, but in my particular one less flex equals more power.

hmm interesting. What note were these enclosures peaking at just outta curiosity? My explorer I found the opposite but Ive had a lot of odd results with that truck that didnt make sense, maybe it was just a freak. I built all my boxes out of single layer to start then tested doubling up one layer at a time and kept losing more and more as it got stiffer. I didnt try any threaded rod or other bracing though. I was peaking with that setup at 50-52hz just for referece. That truck really was an oddball now that I think of it. I had one enclosure aka "The Kevin Koller Box" that was 25 X 25 X 14 with 3 4" aeros. And I could have the aeros anywhere from 8"-14.5" long and still have a score within under 0.2 db and the frequency would only change 4 hz total from 48hz to 52 hz

Dustin, my box that I most recently tested and got this result with was peaking at 43hz and was actually tuned to 37hz. It is my daily driving box that is also very loud off very little power. I'll do the same type of testing with the two new spl boxes that I have and I don't mind letting you know what happens there.
