Hi all,

New to this forum, still relatively new to the sport (only been competing about a year or so) but with the help of a mate have managed a PB of 149.9dB but haven't really been competing properly for a few months due to a blown amp... Be that as it may i've just this week purchased a DD Z2LV which once it arrives will be running my two 9512G's.

Just got a few questions, i'm hoping someone with a liitle more experience may be able to help me out..

1) I've worked out my car (2005 suzuki swift) seems to peak around 61Hz and have been told that whatever frequency you tune your box to generally will peak about 10hz higher once its in the car. So my question is this.... If my car peaks at 61Hz should i build the box to say 51hz so that way the peak of the box in the car and the frequency the car peaks at are the same??

2) Port size?? I'm currently using a 6" aeroport (thats unfortunately not of the best build quality) and i'm thinking now i'm going to be using about 3KW more than i have been previously then i should be using a bigger aeroport (which will be getting built by the guys who hold street A,B & C records here in Australia). Is this true??

Cheers
Rob

you might want to try a CRX style box that peaks around 60 or 61 Hz that should be loud!! I also have a freind with tthe same subs. he runs seprate boxes I think he is running about 1.4cubes per sub with one 6" per box

By CRX style box you mean subs face forward, port backwards??

I should have mentioned that my best effort so far was with subs and port both facing upwards.. Also that i am quite restricted with box size as my boot is quite small especially considering i have to fit the amp in there too.

My bad.
