I'll try it out when I get a chance for a new box - it may work well as the single box does the best numbers for what it is cone area and power wise.

My in-car tuning may be lower than I imagined... the highest current should be right around tuning and my current continued to rise down to 40 Hz measuring it today.
I have not tested any lower frequencies than that yet - so I may have to cut off ALOT of port to get that tuning up to where I want it!

Cut it down until it was reading 39 Hz - score was 0.2dB down but I couldn't get my PVC piece back in so it would have either been the same or 0.1-0.2 up.
Cut it down more until it was reading 41 Hz - lost 0.9 dB!
Re-built the port to 4" longer than before... simply taping it up against what was left of the old port and building a quick brace piece to hold the parts together in the center... no glue at all, no smoothing, nothing special.
I am within 0.1 dB of my score before cutting - 154.5 dB.
My iPod only has tracks down to 35 Hz and by the current measurement 35 Hz had the highest current... so the box is at least 2 Hz lower tuned than before.

Maybe going with a bigger opening(more port area) and less depth will raise your tuning to were you want it? What is the current length now that you added the 4"?

I discovered *another* big hole in my floor board... so I think it is time to suck it up... pull the system and carpet out and weld up these holes.
This hole is pretty new since I started peaking in the 40s... I could stomp my foot down real hard and it would go through!

Not yet - I'll add that to my to-do list
I am in the process of fixing the giant hole in my floor in the Jeep, replacing the gas tank AGAIN (yes, the new tank sprung a leak), and changing out the carpet as it was soaked and rusting out the rest of my floor that didn't already have a big hole!

My new carpet is due today... so once I get that in I can start putting the system back in.
I decided to try 12v and see what happens. I have 6x Stinger SPV-70s for the time being. If I am happy with my 12v results I'll upgrade these to Powermaster D3100s - I got the Stingers CHEAP so I have a bunch of them.
I didn't post it in this thread before but I had a GIANT hole in my floor that fixed - hence taking the whole system and carpet out. My driver floor board was essentially gone.

you have the amp at rated impedance, plus you've got Really high impedance rise, and you're still getting rated power on 12V batteries? that's wild.
What are you rising to? 3ohm or higher?
