I need some help I want to try a 6th order box in my car. This is what I came up with. any help would be great!! thank you. I think this would be a great SPL set up?

box size 34W X 29D X 16.5H
rear chamber 34 X 10 X 16.5 tuned @ 39hz
front chamber 34 X 19 X 16.5 tuned @ 39hz
This box will be a sereis port setup with two 12's

I am not real sure how this will work out but any suggestions would be great and thank you for the help.

depending on what notes you're looking for...
I'd tune the rear box lower and the front box higher a few hertz

Go as LARGE as you can on the front of the series tuned enclosure and tune it at 120hz while the rear(the enclosure the sub woofer is in). I would start off with a 30-35 Hz tuning and slowly while testing adjust each port to maximize spl.

Bringing the rear tuning up and the front tuning down until spl is peaked out. You may have to do this several times to test each and every combination of port frequency to peak it out your looking at around a week or so to perfect it. This will work for a wall or a stand alone enclosure.

why would the front chamber be tuned so high? I need to be at a certin hz to hit the meter I am tuned to 44 hz now in a ported box and need this next box to be at 39 hz? based on the 1/4 wave theroy

the 1/4wave method doesn't always work. Chances are that your neon is going to have resonance around the mid-40's in frequency. other neon owners might be able to verify that.
Another note, very rarely does a box have peak output at the tuning frequency. It's usually 4-11Hz higher...depending on the type and size of the enclosure relative to the Vas

that is weird for some reason the box I have in there now is tuned to 46hz and it peakes at 44hz?
I have noticed that the closer I get to 39 hz the higher dash score I get but there is little gains in the floor now I only pick up about 1 db from the dash to the floor. I thought that this was I was close to the resonate freq? I have also never built a 6th order box and an not sure if this will give me the gains I am tring to get. I am currently hitting a 150.0db (TL) on the dash and I am after the world record now!! is this something that will give me more db than a single 15" ported box? vrs. the dual 12 6th order?

Normally I end up with a 35-38 tuning on the low tune side and 60-70 on the high side but this is something that has to be tested over and over to maximize spl, I wouldn't start lower than 100hz on the high side. You can tune down from there but you need to see and understand the response as you move it lower to verify peak.

With a lot of work, it MAY be possible to get a higher score...but getting a bandpass to work from a trunk vehicle is not going to be a simple switch-out. LOTS more work to see much gain, which you may or may not find when limited to such a small space.

well I don't mind putting in the work I was just wondering if it would be worth it in the end? the only other options that I have are to go to a fouth order box? or change to two 12's in a ported box similar to what I have now? I will be going to 12's either way to get cone area and I will be doubling my power as well

For music only I would go with a 30hz/60hz tuning myself. Again keeping the front side as big as possible to increase port gain.
