IV had six rockford p2 8's sitting brand new in my room for 6 months so Iv decided to build something for a sound comp that me and my shops owner are going to enter this weekend. the box Im going to build today(time permitting at work) has three separate chambers at 1.54 cu ft each with a pair of 8's per chamber ported. The enclosure is going where my backseat was in my 95 mustang Gt powered by my Xtant 1001DX with the subs firing up and the three 4x13" ports firing forward tuned to about 40-45hz. Do you think this will get decently loud even though its hard to do in a stang? One other question I have is iv anyone can help me with the wiring on my subs to get them as close to 1 ohm as possible, their all dual 4 ohm subs but I cant figure out hoe to wire them up... thanks for any help

The closest you're going to get with Six dual4ohm subs would be 1.333. Series the two coils on each sub to an 8ohm load. Then parallel all the subs down.

thanks for the replies, Im going to try facing the ports diff. to see how it sounds and Ill post when I get pics... maybe I can get my buddy to drop by with his audio control mic so I can test it out

(2) earthquake PHD5000W for comps (1) for daily and only 2 gauge wire through out the car. epic 160 hitting 150 on it in the dash at .5 ohms.

hey i run 3 dd 1500-8" at 1.33 ohms ,box is 3.2 cubic foot for all 3 subs ,in one stetsom 2k6d at my every dally drive car " VW passat" is doing 147,2db at 42HZ i am big fan on 8" sub they play real fast!!!!teamDD

Sorry its taken me a while, Ill get some pics up as soon as I can...I finished the system last week and Im hoping to meter it later today but I have a question about the ohm load... I wired it up as I was told and it was sitting at 2.11 ohms instead of 1.33 like it should, a buddy of mine said that it would drop after 20-30 hours of playing time since the subs are new. Well it still hasnt dropped at all and my xtant only puts out 500 watts at 2 ohms, It needs closer to 1ohm to put out the 1000... any advice?

Those are what I want... Im trying to sell the six of these p2's so I can get 4 of the dd 1500-8's, A friend of mine in the dd dealer for this area. Id like to run them off a 4-5k amp

from test i did, 4 dd1500-8 if you run 650 w rms for eath woofer and build the box real good , is garantee 150db for 8"ssss in smal car like VW golf, if you just burp they take 1200 wrms and will do 153db! try build box with the aero port works real good to!

Yea but this enclosure is only temp. If I dont sell the subs then Ill build something better... I hate pvc ports but didnt have much time to build it.

grab a rotozip and get a roundover bit 1/4 shank and round both ends of the ports. then turn the box around because it will get louder.
i wouldnt just ditch the box. you could also buy 3 4" aeroports and cut the pvc ones out. the mounting hole is alot bigger for the aero's and you will be fine...
