I'd like to be able to pull at least 3 more DB out or my @$$. A guy can hope and dream right ? Now I just need to get my 4th amp and see if I can make that Db jump again. As bad as I hate to say I may not even get to break these sub cones in before I recone the...what a shame. Unless there is a way to remove the cones and not trash it, so it would still be usable again at a later date.

Once again I knew I should have followed my gut feeling. I swore I would buy D.7's for like 7 months but when the time came I lost my nervers and got all worried......looks like my gut just cost me $200 bucks for new cones. If only I knew some one that could show me how to recone the RIGHT and easy way.

Good job.Pete. It looks like everything is coming together.

As far as the amps racks behind the box and make it flat all the way back.I tried all that in my van and didn't see a gain or a loss. Don't worry about behind the box. Just worry about inside it. That is were the u will see all your gain. Trust me. I tried everything thing i could think of. It all in the box and nothing else.

Wow nice gain, so you are running the amps bridged instead of stereo? or different ohm load, also try to get that frequency up 49hz is lowwww, but that is a good number congrats and keep up the hard work.

Well guys thanks for the props so far. As for the 4 inchs of port it was worth a .4 gain....so I think it will stay for now.

As for the freq.....ever mess with a Astro van ???? Well any 1 that has knows that they play low, even with LOADS of power the note is still low. I know some person that might have tryed higher freq's and found that 50's is good for the van.

As for my note....well I'd like to be able to do at last a 156 under 50Hz....why..why not ? It would bring some crowed responce in....it is a little more than a hum, and glass tends to move at this freq. Not saying I'll stay there for ever but for this show I have in 2 days this is about all I have to come with.

1St place at the show today..and best of show for SPL. Pulled out a 156.1 in pre run just messing around. Turns out I was the only 1 in my class so I only got to run once......posted a 155.5 but had a BLAST doing it. I was qualfying against the show host....though he was going to pull out something close so I decided to mess with him. I burped 7X's in the 30 seconds. Started out at a 127 and just kept jumping a little higher messing with the host waiting for his big number...due to issue's his sub blew in the 140's....I never even got to burp the last 4 clicks on the deck...that still gain on the meter.

 -

The only BIG change I mad was this........
 -

I also added a little tape in the port mouth where the baffle was still rough. I messed with the phase control as well.......turns out that the small changes were enough to break a 156..........now it's time to do some REAL tweaking and tuneing.

Think this setup and power level has at LEAST a 157...maybe a 158 even.

Think I'll find it ?

OH....found the pics of my inter connects I picked up last weak....still can't find the pic of my 100 feet of TRUE 8 gauge power wire...ummm errr speaker wire.

Oh... I would like to add that my van was WIDE OPEN ALL DAY. Every one was able to see the inside of the van and even the box if they wanted to. After the show I burped it in the low 50's or high 40's with ALL doors open for the crowed to hear and feel. I let people take pics of the van and the amp's as well as the front of the box ALL DAY. They couldn't belive the size of the box...and they think 2 amps is a LOT of power....wait till they see all 4 amps.

I am doing what I said I would do. NOTHING is hiden or magic, every thing is in plain sight.

Lots of hard work and time was needed to get this far. ANY one of the spectors can do it....all they have to do is want it bad enough and work hard enough . So let them look and see what it takes. Maybe a few more got hooked today.

yeah great job pete with the win, im still kinda pissed about how the comp turned out for me but hey i lost by 3 dbs to a guy with 2x the subs and 3x the power, but still dont feel that amp should have been allowed, but other than that it was a half way decent day excluding the rain and the gay cafe i went into to go to the bathroom
