yea was sponcered by db drive in 05 and 06 with 2 of the the 2000.1's strapped on a pair of pl's in 05 and wds in 06. they are solid amps though i never clamped it they had power. danny at db drive has always been there for any questions and support cant say enough. 07 was out of the game with bad car accident, 08 getting back in the lanes. db drive's 4000.1 is comming out soon.
the 60001 is far from a monster look at the amps of today up to 15,000rms now. most every co today has a 4000watt or larger amp out there.
you guys from texas run my fav equipment db drive and audiopipe and dont forget quantum audio. these are the brands i sell and run...

I have got the older ones that you recone without the basket the motors are a good size but compared 2 my ss xxx15 with the 4 hp motor they are tiny the dimensions on the audiopipe motor are a 1.5 inch top plate 2 1.25 inch magnets and 3/4 inch back plate the voice coil is more of an underhung type the coils do not come past the top plate at rest I got them used with recones and immediately reconed them myself and learned the importance of cleaning all the sawdust out of a box before you play your subs there was a large amount of debris in the gap from previous recones and sawdust after a little rubbing alcohol, sanding, contact cleaner and air in a can they are as good as new I will install them this weekend and let you know what is up.

It is a flatwound aluminum voice coil I think the person blowing them was because of operational error and I will leave it at that it has an 8 layer coil and cooling vents in the top plate ,pole piece and on the frame around spider.

All right at 12.2 volts we got 2637 watts at a nominal 1 ohm load I am not sure what the impedence rise was and we could not test at 16 volts yet do 2 the fact his 8 volt batteries were dead and we were using 2 optima batteries hooked up 2 a 100 amp charger they are good 4 a solid 3000 if you have the voltage they did hit protect at .5 ohm load every time we tried 2 do a high power test I should have some 16 volt #s in a couple of weeks hopefully and also the audiopipe spl subs are kick ass.

i have installed the 15001 and for class d amps it was good. all class d amps suck for sq there is nothing new to that. if you want loud accurate bass get a high curent class a/b.
when we were testing in 06 i ran my hk602sx for one show in the car and my friend burped it one time and said it was painful compared to the 2 2000.1's but the score was down almost 2 dbs. now he has no knowlede of difference in amp class just said it was soo much tighter and thought it would be louder...

Don't get me wrong I think that all of the AP class D stuff is awsome especially for the price. I just feel that I can get more out of the GD6001 than the 3000D and still have an amp. I'm good with what I'm running. Believe me I don't need anything else but a good set of ear plugs. For right now ovcourse:)

all the ap amps put out at least rated power and are stable below rated impedence. i have had 0 returns or problems from them...
