Since the search function isn't working properly and I need some quick answers, where to place the port with subs side by side in a wall?
The application is St Max and I can't go vertical which, of course, would be preferred but not possible.
Top or bottom?
Subs will fire into seats if mounted on the bottom and obstruct pressure, but have a better pressure distribution.
If I mount the subs high, then the subs fire into the headrests and have more of an uneven pressure distribution, but the pressure is not as obstructed.

I'd say put the subs at the top. or recone to 15" subs and stack them. You'd probably get even better results, even though "but 18's are bigger"

If the subs dont fit that way, make them or drop to 15s.
I cant believe you dont have 37/38 inches to work with.

I know port drivers side is louder. I'll most likely end up going port top anyway - maybe i can get something from a partial loading off the seats.
I also know that I wouldn't be assed going to 15's for one competition in 2 weeks as the parts to get here would take over that time as well and its a perfectly good waste of 2 recone kits on the 18s with one sub having seen a couple of burps.
It wasn't an issue with 1 sub, which was what this enclosure was designed for, but as I'm selling off my Lada and chucking my gear into a show car, I thought I'd bother to turn up with 2 subs and make the crowds go ohh and ahh.
I'm only playing with myself in my class in this competition anyway lol.
The floor is built up to clear some spring towers in the rear. My walls are currently 56mm thick and I also want to go thicker with another layer of 28mm ply.

Id guess that an out and out SPL build with one sub and port drivers side will be louder than two subs and port top.
