i have the 15" kicker L7's in a sealed box with 2.5 cuft each, and i was reading in the manual that i should put poly fill in. will that increase my spl or reduce it? if so, how much should i put in it? thanks

it will give you a little better low end it tricks the sub into thinking it's in a larger box

adding polyfill at a moderate density will reduce spl, but widen the low-end response. The fill degrades the acoustic energy from the backwave into thermal energy in the fibers. By disappating the energy, it reduces the pressure increase, which is how the box "acts" like its got more volume. There is then less restoring force on the forward stroke from x-, reducing efficiency.
