Yup use 8 gauge, and Id also use both negative terminals with 8 gauge. Better have more than less.

If I use both negative terminals, how does this make things better?

Theres going to be alot of current running trough those wires and if you have more copper area you will have better flow.

nothing new yet, had a hold up. Had to order some 8 gauge wire and 16 Y-splitters. Now just rounding to port edges and sealing up any joints that I think may cause some problems.. Rather be safe then sorry ya know!

I found out that I suck working with fiberglass! I was trying to round off the port side. I pulled the glass as tight as possible, but as soon as I started to add the resin, it sagged right into the gap between the door and the box. Now I have to either 1: fill it with body filler then go over it with a final layer of glass and resin or 2: fibermat it out until its a nice rounded curve.
not a good night + its windy as hell! advice plz.

Use some cardboard to give yourself the rough shape, then coat it with resin. After it dries go ahead and put your layers of matt on top of the cardboard and add your layers for strength.

Thanks for the advice. Just to let you know, I did the glass mate with out the card board or polyester cloth.(rush job!) came out like s**t so I just used some body filler to smooth things over, after everything is nice and smooth, I'll resin the port opening again. But, thanks for the info, I'll try it next time for sure.

I reccomend using a fleece type of material when trying to stretch fiberglass accross an area. It's what I've always used, and when building kicks it is the best. All you have to do is glue or staple,I reccomend to staple, one side in place then stretch it accross and glue or staple it in place.

also the chopped strand mat you are using can be a pain to use in tighter bends, woven rovings can be nicer to use at times, just a bit more expensive. I like the look of this, it's pretty cool, and hey when you're done, just send a couple of those amps my way, I know you've got a few their lol

I decided to run 8 GP Pro's for the first 2 shows and do all 16 at finals. Question... The subs are dual 1.4's what are my options running 2 amps per sub? ie. what kind of loads will my amps see? don't want to take them too low if possible

I would just run 1 on each coil or 0,35 each amp. Why not try 1 on each sub? Run each amp on 0,7ohm.

I think if you get the port right you should be able to hit close to a 160db with 4 amps on 16V.
