I know its early but, the early bird catches the worm! Next week, the astro work starts. I know each van is different but.

1: what freq do astros usually like? [Confused]
2: How big should I start box / port wise for 4 18's?

If you can think of anything else to make this build easier.. by all means, please suggest! the goal for her is mid 60's and better. [Big Grin]

As for boxes, I would like to try a band pass but I have no idea on how to tune them, so I was going to go with the old ported box [Frown] 4 18's and 4 to 8 amps (5k or 7k) [Wink]

I would say make the box as tall and as wide as you can, use up every inch of space. as for the depth I would recommend you start by as deep as you can and then shrink it down. Build it as big as you can (you can always make it smaller). I have a feeling you will end up about 30" deep but start big and work your way down.

also if you put a half round on pvc pipe on your port that is good for a few tenths. If you put duct tape around the subs that is good for a few tenths also

so I'm looking at H=48" D=38" W=48". Baffle board will be 6 layers. I'm using BB pro. as a guide for box size. Gonna use 2x4's to build a frame to control flexing. I'm also looking at your extreme build and plan on doing a frame like you did except I'll be using wood. your thoughts plz.
