Anyone have any ideas for me. I have 2 phoenix gold xMax 15's in 5 cubic foot ported box (2 4" 15"long) firing towards my hatchback window. I have 2 xs2500 (500X1), a PLD1 line driver, ALUMAPRO CAP, Optima yellow top, and the PG Bass Cube. At the start, I was hitting about 144. Know, after all the other additions, I'm hitting upper 145's. I talked with a PG rep, and he said I should easily be hitting close to 150. (ya) He did note two things on my system. He said I shouldn't have those subs in a ported box, and I should have more than 8 gauge into the amps, since 8 gauge can only send so much power. Is any of this true, and what would be possibilites to raise my SPL even more?

You only have 8 gauge going into your amp for power and groung??? Oops, If you slap some 4 guage you will probably a couple of volts to your amp at full throttle and mabey pick up a couple of db... As for not porting your subs ask Dukk about it, he is the port king and the resident expert...

I would suggest get the power right first, work out what your imput wattage should be and then find ways of giving this to the amps, perhaps a 14volt or 16 volt battery setup for the sound only. When I moved from 12 to 16 volts i gained 3 db. 8 guage is just not large enough
