looking through a ton of pics here on forums I see some things that I need clarification on.
I see for the SPL guys they have multiple runs of 0 gauge (or whatever gauge wire you have) from the front battery towards the back but I see no fuse on any of those wires up front. why?
with all those runs of wire what are you connecting them to? I should say do they go into distrubution blocks then to the amplifier(s) or are they going to multiple batteries?
I hate to sound like a noob, especially since I've been around the 12 volt industry for a while, but if you guys can give me more insight into this that would be cool.

fuses are a pain in the ass they limit current flow and they are big most people have distro blocks and i have even seen a few people just electrical tape multiple runs together im not saying its a good idea and i would never do it but it has been done

they are not going into multi. batts. that is more than likely a street a or street b vehicle. in those 2 classes you can only run 1 batt. & it has to be in the factory location. they also limit you to 800 cub. in. batt. in those cars there are probably 2 or 4 very large amps. (4000-10000 watts each possibly pulling 400 amps each) so they could be pulling 1200 amps of current off that batt. at one time. to deliver that much current you need lots or 0 ga. wire with no obstruction in the line. a fuse is an obstruction in the line that is not needed in that app.(when running wire use good rubber gaskets for the firewall & take care in routing the wire)

I don't use any fuses in my power cables because without the fuse i have better current flow. That's not the best way especially for cars that used in sreets because is more easy to have a short circuit in some point of the wire that could be calastrofic for the car. Back in 2005 i was having a fuse block in my old setup and when i compete the fuse blow out without give me the highest SPL that i was doing on test without any fuse. Since then i never use fuses for cars that used only in competitions but i use fuses for cars that they are for daily driving!

thanks for the replies, it makes sense about not using fuses in compitition vehicles. for so many years you get told you need fuses no matter what up front then you see people not using fuses so you need to find out why.
thanks!
