I recentley posted a subject about my 2 12inch Jbl 12000d subwoofers. They are in a 4 cubic foot custom built ported box, with the subs and 4inch wide 12inch long ports facing the trunk. I Placed the box 4 inches away from the trunk, and i posted an all time high db at the Merrillville Indiana competion with a 145.0. I was happy when i hit this, but my car is so inconsistent. My first qualifying run i hit a 143.5, then a 141.5, then i readjusted my box made sure it was straight and hit a 145.0. Then in the elimination round i only posted a 141.9. And yes i do have a cap so i shouldt be doing this. The only reason i think i hit so low is cause my box wasnt straight it was angled i forgot to move it back into place. I just dont understand why i am hitting these 1-3 db differences. Any info will be greatley appreciated.

You are literally tuning the car to the frequency you are playing. How about spending $1.50 on a couple of L brackets to hold the box in the right place.........
