I need some ideas on basic cabin mods that I can do to my car without being classified as extreme. This is not a daily driver but I have to drive it to shows and I want to feel somewhat comfortable. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

For dBDrags? Check out the dBDrag section for a list of rules..
Add a layer of wood or fibreglass 3/4 to 1/5" thick to the roof, doors and floor. This shouldn't cramp you too much and should stiffen things up considerably.

I did a set of temp mods for my ride that go in just for the shows. Raised the floor, lower the roof, that kind of thing. I just avoided breaking an imaginary line from door jam all the way around. Maybe you could try that.

I have a 87 Nissan Pulsar and I have (9)12w6's driven by (3)Autotek HC250MXi. Right now I'm in the process of building a ported box for them and I wanted to do the mods all at the same time.

I had done one mastap, but it was on the old forum and is no longer I've been wanting to do a small page on it but have been to busy competing. Now I have some time but I'm going to do some more mods for a db drag this coming weekend. I've got film in the camera already and will take pics. Hopefully I'll have something set up soon. Keep in mind I'm not exactly known as king of mods. hehe But they did help

Cool, tech, looking forward to it. Just talked with my brother tonight and we're looking into doing a full fledged Db dragger, got an old pickup for free from the old man. Planning on going all out. I'm sure you'll get us on our way!!!

One of the easiest, yet often overlooked things to do in a walled vehicle, is making sure that the cab area is sealed from the rear. Making 1/4" thick trim boards doesn't count. I recomend using expanding foam all the way around the sides and top of the enclosure, and then trimming the front with 3/4" boards that extend from the box to the sides and roof of the vehicle. Full dB Drag vehicles usually fiberglass these trim boards to the vehicle to ensure an airtight cabin.

when you said "don't break that imaginery line at the door jam", is it illegal to go above that line?
I got my 4 door taurus and was thinking of taking the floor up. There is about a 5" raise from the floor to where the bottom of the back seat is. Now, if I were to take out the seats and build some sort of MDF platform, and then mount a makeshift seat, will that still be illegal?

PimpTaurus: I was being conservative and if you don't raise the floor past the door and lower the roof past the door it doesn't raise a second look from the judge. I have seen people make a tiny lip, call that the floor then raise many inches and go all the way across the car and call that the front seats. It's is usually fine. Don't lower the roof to much though. I've seen more dq's from this. I believe wayne said you have to be able to sit in you ride and not have to have your head out the window
