i had posted a message earlier bout a new/first system. i had got a few different oppinons about 10's being better than 15's, and vice versa. They are the punch dvc's ran by a 1100a2 or most likly the 800a2. could some one please clearify this?!?!?!

The 15s will turn heads with bass (not that the 10s won't) and they look cool (big a$$ speakers in a car), but the novelty of having 3 RFs facing you is kinda cool too. Depends on what you want to do. Slam the guy next to you in the lanes and the stop-light: 15s, have something different that still pounds louder than most people's rides: 10s. Either way will rock your world, but 15s will probably score you more points in the lanes.

I have a question for you ppl...what are you smoking cause i could use some....2-15's more cone area then 3-10's...humm for most ppl who are math idiots this is the same amt of cone are 30 inches. And as far as which would be louder the 3-10's due to the fact that 3-10's will have more VC'S and Motor Structures than 2-15's which means more volume in the same air space. And also most 10's have the same motor.VC,magnet structure as 15's which means when you buy a 15" your only getting a single bigger cone and voice coils that are the same size as in most 10's and 12's. This is somthing you should consider 15's have large cone area which means they need more power to move the cone through its xcursion, but a 10 needs less to do close to the same with means you can use a smaller amp in theroy but i wouldnt. Also if you buy 3-10" DVC'S you have many more different wiring configurations which could be better for you. But this is my professional opnion and i honstly think the 3-10's would be better for most ppl.

Cone area is Pi*r^2, not just adding up the diameters. A 15 has a cone area of about 176.7 and a 10 has the cone area of about 78.5. So 2 15's would have 353.4 and 3 10's would have 235.5. So obviously the 15's have the cone area advantage. And with the same amp the 15's would kill 3 10's.
Additionally, in the 14 years I've been doing car audio, 8 professionally, I've never seen a 15 with the same magnet as the 10 in the same line. Almost always the 15 has the same motor as the 12.

God point soory about the previous comments i wasnt thinking in actuall mathmatical cone area i was just adding up cone size being a ig moron sorry ..i dont really honestly do the mathmatical eqution for cone area alot. I do alot more sq cars than major spl cars. But to be hnest either set up can out do each other it will just depend on the set up and the amt of money wanting to be spent . and as for the motor structures i have seen a couple that share with 10.12'and 15's but not alot most it is just 12's and 15's. Sorry for me being a dumass .....ill go shoot my self now
