lower frequencies have more energy and do induce a good bit of movement, but if you're system can't reproduce em loud enough kinda pointless. I'd say 40Hzish is good in many systems...

Also i have a 2 channel Power Acoustik 2x150watt amp bridged into 300watt @4ohm running a 15" Kicker F15C Freeair in a 3.8CuFt Ported enclosure i have it tuned to 42.8Hz would this be enough power to go much lower in freq. It shakes my neighbours house windows and my house windows when i pull in the drive as it is, but i want to make it set off car alarms and stuff [Smile] LOL (MISCHEVIOUS)!!

IF oyu can redo your port area maybe you can tune lower try 35 hz or even 30-32 and see if it is still loud enough for you. Try Oucasts first album first track. southernplayalisticcadillacmusic

I rather enjoyed 23 hz at full volume (Crossfire VR 2000d) on my JL 10W7's, it was violent enough to make my rear windows roll down an inch or so [Big Grin]

I built a box and some guy calculated it out to around 44 Hz. Its for one 12" L5. I was thinking of putting 4 12" L5's in a 4dr blazer around there. 44 Hz is a bit high, how do you calculate the frequencies and how would i make mine lower?

Hi im pretty sure im right in this but if anyone sees different let me know [Smile]

Work out the port Area by Multiplying Height of the port by the width of the port.

multiply the port area by 184,000,000.

Then use a calculator and find the square root of the port area, and multiply that by .823.

Then add that number to the length of the port, and multiply that whole product by the volume of the box in Cubic Inches.

Then take the number from the 2nd step(port area x 184000000) and divide the bottom product into it.

Find the squareroot of that number and then multiply by .159.

That will give you the Frequency.(Hopefully [Razz] )

Oh to work out your enclosures volume in CuInches

Just multiply the CuFt figure by 1728.

Hope that helps.
