Getting the wire to connect to my subs wont be a problem but my amp is a pain in the a$$ when you put 12 gauge on it so what is the best way to go about connecting it to my amp connections? Should I use the banana clips or could i cut a regular fork terminal in half and not e any problems?
Thanks in advance

I use 4 Ga wire for my subs..........over kill? Maybe, but it gained me .3 dB, anyway, I just folded the excess wire back like a banana, and then taped it up.

and the terminals are the push ones, so I can shove one in each side.

I think using "power wire gauge" for spkr wire is ridiculous and doesn't do much. Also wont gain in SPL either. I use 12 myself....works great but wont go under that number.

It's reccomended to use 10 gauge min. for speaker wire when using 1000 + watts of power . I use 8 gauge myself . You should also make the distance from the amp to sub as short as possible .

ok let review the orginal post. Im not asking if I should use 8 gauge or what wire I should use. Im askin what is the easiest way to get it into the amp some have mention banana clips also some suggested cutting a normal spade in half so there is only one prong and using that.

I suppose either way would be fine. As long as it stays in the amp and doesn't fall out, you will be perfectly ok.

hmm...my second though would be to crimp a ring terminal on the end of it and file down both sides untill it is skinny enough to fit. I should work.
