3.5 cubes @ 30 hz

How much port area and port length should I have?

The box programs are pretty complicated. I really need some help here.

Port length is the main thing but the box dimensions are width (like depth) (9inches)
height (17inches)
length (39.5inches)

its 3.5 cubes but ports are killin me

hard to tune low and keep the port very short with much port area [Frown]

is there any way you can rearrange the dimensions on the box to accomodate a longer port? If you have to you can port on a side 90 degrees from the sub...but best to have on same plane

put the port on the side of the box, where the longest length is. And keep the woofer on the front of the box. As long as the woofer and port are not on opposite sides of the box then it will sound good.

Also, now u can make the port a little bigger if u like and use rectangle ports. Some round ports made out of plastic can resonante at lower freq at high volumes and not sound very good.

Try a square port:-
30hz = 4" x 4" x 10" long

If u want the port on the same side as the subwoofer then just build an L shaped port.
