When he got 168 dB's with one 9510 i am pretty sure i could maybe get close with 2 3510's but i need somewhere to start. What were the specs on the box and what amp was he using?

Amps are known the everyone.....DEI2500D's. As far as the enclosure design goes....I doubt anyone but Nathan knows that....and considering the time....effort...and $$ he put into it I don't see why he should tell you. SPL, is truely an art of TRIAL, and ERROR. What works for once person...with said equipment...in said vehicle...may yield completely different results in another setup. If you truly want to be LOUD...the only way to get there is trial, and error.

I hope you're being sarcastic. If you've spent 10's of thousands of dollars and countless hours of "working " to perfect your set-up, WOULD YOU TELL???????

Those are actually Elevation Audio woofers. ITs a small company in NW NY. I don't have them in there any longer, because I'm in the process of getting Resonant Engineering XXX's. I can't really say how I'm getting them...lets just say my brother is helping the guys there with how shall we say a "new webpage". Anyways...my box is actually 7.25cu ft gross...6cu ft net. ITs tuned to 49hz, but I also have a port plug to dro tuning to 35hz. Currently, the best I've done with those 2 12's, and 1 JBL1200.1 is a 150.7. Not fantastic, but more then respectable for 2 $89 woofers. Testing so far was on a Linear X mic, but I'll soon have a local shop with a Kriss meter, and another has an Audiocontrol meter now, so I'll have more options to go by.

Well to start, his car is an Exttreme vehicle with a modified interior. If you want a box design for those 2 10's, look on the DD website for the box specs and follow them. I'd imagine it's around 2ft3 and 24in2 of vent tuned to 40hz or so. I would make a box that's 2.5ft per driver, and 36in2 of vent per sub also, tuned to 40hz. That should be a good start.

also...what class are you planning to compete in? In Street 1-2 or even SS 1-2 good luck at obtaining a 170 with two 9510's, that's alot of cabin volume to compress. Not saying you can't but it's gonna take a TON of power and MUCH trial and error in box design

His box was copied! But the thief got about 15 db or so less than Nate. You can't easily steal the time and effort he put in his system or the knowledge inside the system your to dumb to catch or see.

P.S. This goes for many systems not just Nates.
of course it was copied.. I mean come on.. there was a video tape of his enclosure that was passed around for Christ's sake. How cheesey is that? I know we need this sport to grow, but how bout some sportsmanship? Some INTEGRITY? If you want to ask a particular person a question.. ASK THEM.. don't go around their back, and sneak a video camera inside the car when no one is around. Granted, Nathan aways has his car open, and is one of the few comeptitors ( that i personally know of)who will really talk to anyone. This hasn't happened only to Nathan, this has happened to several people. IF a video or pics are taken without permission, and it is to PROVE of some illegal activity, then I believe it is justified. But otherwise, ask. you may be allowed to look, but no pics. come on. these people bust their butts, and someone with a cam corder is gonna come in and copy it cause they have the lack of skill, testicular fortitude, determination, you name it. I personally think it is cheesey as hell. THOSE are the kinds of people who are bad for this sport ( IMHO)
now back to his car.
it was the same as the setup at finals.. all he did was make two plates ( to cover the holes fo the 15s) and one had a cutout for the 10".. simple as that.. btw.. this is not top secret, nathan himself has said this on the forum several times. the car is loud, and will, no doubt, get louder. Nate's a great competitor, and person. hope that the "P.L Deathmatch trophy is soon sharing the shelf with a 8ft trophy from finals.

169.8dB to be exact Just want to give full credit here Anyways, I wouldn't bet on getting anywhere near that score unless this is going into a true EXTREME vehicle.

from what im thinking ..about a year or so ago ? ther was alot of talk about his car alot of posts..and hetalked alot to i think...form what i know it involves and very tachnical port design..with ALOT of time playing withit(as in any spl car) and i think he finally just got the port and cabin to work together very well..if ther is any secret to his box i would ssay it involves his port inside the enclosure..and just buy looking at his car..(not the inside of the box) i highly doubt it could ever be copied..now i really dont know .but i think thats it..

I think one of the coolest thing about this sport is creativity. People come up with different designs and setups just to see how they do. Copying someone else's design takes away from that creativity. Nathan Munson has put countless hours into his designs and obviously its paying off. If we all copy his design, we basically put all the pressure of car audio advancement into his hands, which seems a little unfair to him. So get your thinking caps on, throw out the dunce ones, and do some R&D.

There is no real trick to my car. I use the passenger side of the vehicle to control the energy created by the sub, and the box, drivers side, and console to control the frequency. I guess there are alot of people that think my console is what makes my car loud, but there is ALOT more to it than that. To be honest, Just for fun last year, I pulled the console out (a good portion of it anyways) and it was barely down in output, but my frequency was uncontrollable. Due to the VERY limited space in my car, my enclosure has to be tiny (compared to most db drag cars), measuring less than 7 cubes after port displacement. since it is hard to control tuning when your box is that limited, I employ the console as an aid.
I do take offence to those who say its easy, and they could do it no problem. Not that I doubt anyones abilities, but I do feel that before you can talk like that, you have to actually do it. I know of ALOT of cars that have tried to copy the design, none of which has gotten very close to my numbers, at least not in public in the competition lanes.
