By podium, they are saying use an umbilical (a length of cabling for your CD player that goes OUTSIDE of the car) and mount the CD player in a podium.. So you can mess around with it OUTSIDE the car.. NO skippage!

If this is a daily driver like mine (24 12's) I had to put in a cd changer away from the enclosure that should do it.

i simply did it the easy way. ui have an extra CD player, and ran power and ground wires out to it, and use a plug to be able to remove it and attach it quick. Then i run RCA's from it to the amp, and there ya go. 10 minutes tops, and now i can have my outside CD player connected and burping in 30 seconds or less.

Or if you wanted to look into the future. Look at the cd-player skipping as a sign the the music is turned up to loud

I left my deck in sometimes when competing in the qualifying rounds. I did 157 and 158 and it wouldnt skip. I have a kenwood excelon 911. The best way without a podium is to go with a changer behind your wall or whatever. Sony makes a deck with 3 second ESP. We did a car with 12 12's and it does 153+ with the sony deck and doesnt skip. Just a thought.

Usually if it is skipping it is too loud!Turn it down....and if competing use a podium or just pull the radio out of the car......Great point doughboy!

your right. right know I'm useing a discman. I havent tried a regular cd player since I dont know of any that dont skip at high spl and still work after a couple of years. I see to many people spend 500-700 dollars and there cd player works like crap or not at all a few years later. Me, I can just replace the discman every year, they're cheap. But, I want to get rid of the whole discman thing and find a good cd player. I thought maybe there was a certain model(s) that people where useing. I had no idea they used a remote source. I thought they just had a remote control for the in dash cd players. sorry if I sound stupid, I dont compete. I'm just obsessed with audio.

Team_Xtream_Pro...you are hitting what? lol...since when? at USAC finals with the 8 subs you did a Chris Hanley 151.4 outlaw from what I know never did that car at a Db Drag show with the 8 subs. You did that install went to finals and then went home and now have that single aw1200 in there. Hmm....I wont comment further..I will leave that for the email...
